Elon Musk’s social media platform X experienced a Saturday morning outage that impacted around 25,000 users, according to CNBC. Service issues began shortly after 8:30 a.m. ET was resolved mainly by 10 a.m., though some users faced intermittent problems until about 11 a.m. X experienced its second outage in less than a week, following a previous disruption on Thursday. Musk acknowledged the downtime in a post on X, stating that “major operational improvements need to be made” and noting that the platform’s failover redundancy “did not” function properly. The platform has experienced widespread outages since Elon Musk acquired X in 2022. Musk blamed one major disruption in March on a “massive cyberattack” carried out with substantial resources.
