Hyundai announced a $21 billion investment in the U.S. as Trump prepares new tariffs, according to CNBC. The investments include a nearly $6 billion steel plant in Louisiana, which will support Hyundai’s factories in Alabama and Georgia and create over 1,000 jobs. Hyundai plans to grow U.S. vehicle production and invest billions in technologies like autonomous driving and AI. Trump hailed the investment as proof that tariffs “very strongly work” and warned of further tariffs. The South Korean automaker said its three U.S. plants will be able to produce one million vehicles annually once fully operational.
